O expozici

In the 16th and 17th centuries, Jindřichův Hradec ranked among the largest towns in the Czech lands, with flourishing trade and crafts. The most important guild was that of cloth makers, while other prosperous guilds included tanners, butchers, blacksmiths, locksmiths, millers, bakers and gingerbread makers. Builders, stonemasons, carpenters, cabinetmakers, potters and stove makers also played a significant role in the town’s development. This exhibition presents the rich craft tradition that shaped the town’s economic and cultural life.
